Its the Friday before Halloween. Halloween is one of my favorite "holidays". I love dressing up, Clayton, William, my house and me! Usually I plan costumes months advance. This year I had the idea's but found out that I was to work Halloween weekend this year so I put off making the costumes until one of my WONDERFUL co-worker's helped me out and switched shifts with me!
So 5 day's before Halloween I was slaving over my sewing machine attempting to make my son's Diego costume. For those who know me you understand what a hilarious sight this is. (side note- I bought my sewing machine about 4years ago, I have used it approx 3 times since then. The 3rd time being 3 day's ago.) So as you can deduce I am not a seamstress. However as all mothers do I pulled out my sewing machine dusted it off and sat down to create a masterpiece for my little Diego. After several mis-attempts and a couple bad words, I decide that there was nothing else I could possible do to make this costume any "better".
Having a son that is allergic to absolutely "everything", I realize that Halloween may not be as fun for him as it is for most kids. Its not like he is going to be able to eat all the trick-or-treat candy. So I want to find other fun ways to celebrate Halloween. Luckily Whitecourt has a great Rec Center that puts on children's programs, including a Halloween party for kids under 5.
So this morning we loaded up and headed to the AJ Center for some Halloween fun. William looked pretty cute in his homemade costume, and although it wasn't the best costume there I was proud of my attempt! The party was fun, minus the 3 temper tantrums and the fact that William almost pelted some poor little girl in the head with a bucket ( a source for one tantrum). William seemed to know exactly what candy was and luckily was able to have a sucker. But it was fun, a great program for little kids, and great exercise for there parents!!
We will be hosting a family Halloween party this weekend (an attempt to include non-candy activities in to our Halloween celebrations). I will post pictures of our costumes as we have coordinated as a family this year again. Cheesy I know but may as well do it while we can, soon my 'little Diego' will be choosing his own costumes and my creative skills will be once again tested.
Families are like FUDGE- Mostly sweet with a few NUTS!

Life of a Spoiled Toddler
Happy Morning to all of you!
Morning`s in our house usually come way way to soon, as my husband can confirm. I however usually get a couple extra minutes of shut eye, depending on the day. Some days we wake up at 6am some days 9am... I'm still trying to figure out the factors contributing to the 9am wake up calls, but alas I have yet to determine any specific similarities with these later morning wake ups.
Today it was a 7am wake up which I am directly relating to my husband's attempts to be quiet while getting ready for work this morning... I understand that 7am is pretty good, however trying to convince yourself that when your toddler is screaming ``DADADA!`` in the baby monitor as you squeeze your eyes together is difficult. (side note- William will scream ``dada`` approx 4 times before he will switch to ``mama``- A fact that i currently exploit! ``he wants you hunny``.)
Anyway up I get to bring the happy baby down stairs from his crib, I am quickly informed to get the banana or ``nana`` and ``car`` two necessities for any 20month old. My futile attempts to squeeze in a couple more minutes of pillow time include the coveted banana and milk cup with ``DORA`` in my bed. Some days this works today it did not. One banana downed in minutes and demanding a second. No sleep for momma!
As I have a bad habit of making life easier especially in the ``early morning`` i have gotten my toddler in to a bad habit... Yes most people only get breakfast in bed on mothers day, my son has turned this luxury into an almost daily occurrence. I use the towel to keep my sheets relatively free of cereal and the cartoons to give me a couple minutes to enter the land of the living.
These truly are the good days, and they go by way to fast, however i have to wonder if my ``spoiled toddler`` will ever realize how lucky he is to have such a ``nice`` mommy to deliver breakfast in bed with a daily dose of DORA.

Welcome To our Life- A mission Statement
A mission Statement
This is my second attempt to start a blog. Since we moved farther away from our families I find it hard to keep them updated on our ever changing lives!
My hope is that this blog will allow our Family and Friends to keep updated on what we are doing.
William changes daily, he is constantly doing new, amazing, wonderful, crazy and awful things, and its a shame that our family doesnt get to share in these experiences!
So please add yourself to the follower section and check in regularly for updates on the Russell Family! I will be attempting to post new things every couple days (which may be ambious!).
Please also pass along this link to all our family and friends who may be interested.
Thankyou for reading!
