Summer Catch Up

A little catch up as it has been a busy month!  Been down to Calgary/Airdrie almost every weekend for events.  But had some time to enjoy the heat with frequent visits to the local splash park, a visit to the beach and many water fights!  I signed up for a boot camp which is totally KICKING my @$$!!!  I am OK when I get to class, want to cry half way through, and can barely move the next day.  So I guess I like it ;).  Its really cool actually because we work out in a local park and I can take William and he gets to play with other kids and there is a babysitter there to watch the kids!

A PICTURE BLOG OF THE FIRST HALF OF SUMMER JUNE-JULY

ROAD TRIP!  William and Joey on our way from Whitecourt-Lacombe, last trip.   These too had a lot of fun on our "road trip".  We saw big diggers and Joey educated us on there REAL names.  We saw a train and lots of animals.  PLUS  We made up our own 'Road trip' theme song... It goes like this...
"Road trip, road trip, we are driving in a car.
Road trip, road trip, we are going really far.
Road trip, road trip, we are seeing lots of things.
Road trip, road trip, we all feel like KINGS!"

My Mom and us on our first walk in Lacombe.

Baba feeding William a Breakfast of Champions (Cool whip... I'm not sure if much else was ingested) before we left the Whitecourt house for the last time
Our 3rd house!

Clay gets to move home after his last week in WESTLOCK on June 28.  Almost 3 weeks after we moved.  SOOOOO happy he is home!  His new job is going well he has been in Sylvan Lake the past few weeks.  Its a bit of an adjustment him being home all the time, but not a bad adjustment... I have to start cooking for a family again and not just me.  Not that I didn't TRY to cook for my 3 year old...  He doesn't like my cooking,  its "yucky" according the 3year old, he mostly lives on pancakes, Popsicles and broccoli (Yes, he wont touch my homemade pizza but broccoli he will almost ALWAYS eat!)

We have been busy on outdoor "projects".  Here is another FAMOUS QUOTE of mine, (that will most likely BITE me in the Butt again one day!).  I WILL NEVER BUY A HOUSE That isn't SODDED again!

The before shot of back yard... Isn't it lush and green with WEEDS!!!  What a mess!  Our sodding plans were quickly derailed the first weekend we moved in as we had to deal with a jungle of weeds before we could think about laying sod.

The inevitable "unexpected" expense (one of a few).  The yard was such a mess we had to get a 'professional' in to prep the back yard.

The start...  3hrs of sodding done by 2 people...  YOU NEED AN ARMY TO DO THIS!  It was a HUGE job on our own.  Really didn't help that the sod was cut only minutes before being loaded on to our truck, and been rained on the day before.  IT WAS WET WET WET!

Relief!  Done... Now to rack up the water bills!

Almost done... For this year.  We have a guy coming to pour a cement pad for the walk out in the next week then we are done... for this year.  (Insert exasperated sign here,  if only we didn't have such high expectations of our yard... A broken down old couch and a pile of beer cans would be much easier to maintain).

NOW MY TRIBUTE TO MY COUNTRY

Canada Day Parade, Airdrie.  4 very good little boys watched the parade and collected candy!

Grammy and William having some fun in the Yard on a warm summer day!

Just a little warm... I'm not complaining... We only get a little bit of summer every year!  I was trying to remember this when it was only 0.2 degrees difference inside and out.

And one of the BEST PARTS OF MY SUMMER YET!!!
GARTH BROOKS!!!
OMG.... Phenomenal!  AMAZING!
BEST Concert Ive EVER EVER been too!

There is something about a Guy in a BLACK cowboy hat!
Look at my two Hotties!

Hope you are enjoying your SUMMER!

The Russell's Have moved!

We have offically moved in to our new house in LACOMBE ALBERTA.   June 8, we moved the 2nd load of crap... I mean stuff down from Whitecourt.  And William and I have spent the week in Lacombe, unpacking and exploring.  Tonight Clay is heading down with the Last load, and by next friday we no longer own 2 houses 3 hrs apart!

I worked right up to the day before we left (small price to pay for taking the summer off!)  And Clayton is still working in Westlock until the end of June when he will transfer to the RED DEER Shop.  We are beyond excited to have our little family back togeather in July, after 10months of Clay working away from home!  Its been a really long tough journey and hopefully we can get back on track in our new home, new community and with our new opportunites!

Summer looks like it will be busy, and although I already have a list of things I want to do with William I do plan on keeping up with my blogging.  Look forward to a tonne of MOMMY and ME posts!

I cant upload pics tonight (as my camera cord has been lost in the confusion of moving)  but I will try to share some pics from our last few weeks soon!

Thanks to everyone who helped us with this move!  Your muscles were greatly appreciated!!!  I know I say this every time I move but NEXT time (I kinda hope there isnt a next time;)... but...) NEXT TIME Im hiring a moving company!!!

The "plan" is OFFICIAL

Well as you can see its been a busy month!

For those who dont know we OFFICIALLY sold our house this past week!  So end of June we will be relocating down to Lacombe, AB

I am very glad the house is sold because it is very hard to live in a SHOW-READY home with a 3 year old, and 2 cats and a dog!  Poor William wasnt able to do much playing over the past few weeks!

But it payed off because 27 days later the house is sold and our plans are on track!

Now we can enjoy our last few months in Whitecourt and in our house (which we will miss)

Beautiful weather this weekend and my Boys took advantage of it!
William has had the back door open and has been out in the yard almost all day today, I forgot how much this kid LOVES the outdoors!

Bikes to sleds? NO WAY!

Spring Teased us this week.  The snow had almost completely melted from the roads and sidewalks.  So out our bikes came!

Our first Bike of 2012.
A nice long Ride!
William didnt make it the whole ride... he fell asleep about half way through.
Tessa was tired for 2 days... She may be slightly outta shape due to our sluggish winter attitudes.

William got his bike out too this week.  He went all the way around the block!  Such a trooper, especially on the $2 garage sale trike that has the crooked wheel.  He loves to bike and we have been debating what to do for William this summer, since his current Tricyle is pretty sad looking.  He has a BIG WHEEL trike we got him 2 years ago, but he cant reach the peddles yet.  He is alittle small for a 'big boy bike', so we may have to find a better tricyle for him this year.

Such nice weather, then we wake up this morning to a blizzard!!  Its not suppose to be very nice weather this week, but the sun in shining now and the snow that fell this morning is melting!  MELT SNOW MELT!  Your not welcome!

The rest of the weekend has included cleaning... Our house is on the market (for those who didn't know)  And we are currently trying to keep the house spotless for showings.  Not so easy with all our critters and a 3 year old.  Luckily he likes to clean... See him help me out by wiping the chairs off.
